Windshield chips & cracks in Fair Oaks

Fair Oaks is one of the easier trips to our shop. Most residents can reach 2450 Fulton Ave on Fair Oaks Blvd without touching a freeway, in about 15–20 minutes from the Village or the Sunrise and Madison area.

King Auto Tint offers auto glass repair: windshield chip and crack repair and full windshield replacement. You drive in, we look at the damage together, and we give you an honest recommendation before any work starts.

Why Fair Oaks drivers choose us

Worth the drive.

We're on Fulton Ave in Sacramento, minutes from Business 80, serving drivers from Roseville to Elk Grove. We know the valley's heat, the I-80 and US-50 rock-chip commutes, and the tint rules CHP enforces.

Local roads & glass damage

Why chips happen here.

Fair Oaks driving runs along wide corridors like Sunrise Blvd, Madison Ave, Fair Oaks Blvd and Hazel Ave, plus winding roads near the American River bluffs. Contractors' trucks, landscaping trailers and repaving work on these routes put loose stone in the lanes. Many residents also commute on US-50 via Sunrise or Hazel, where freeway truck traffic adds to the risk.

Temperature is the other factor. Fair Oaks sees the same hot summers as the rest of the valley, regularly past 100°F, and the evening cool-down near the river can be quick. In winter, Tule fog settles low along the American River and wipers run for long stretches. Both put stress on a chipped windshield, which is why we recommend getting a chip repaired soon rather than waiting.

Repair or replace?

As a rule of thumb, chips smaller than a quarter and cracks shorter than about six inches can often be repaired. Damage in front of the driver, at the edge of the glass, or with multiple cracks spreading usually points to windshield replacement. Our post windshield repair vs. replacement explains how we decide.

FAQ · Fair Oaks

Questions from Fair Oaks.

Can I get to your shop from Fair Oaks without the freeway?

Yes. Fair Oaks Blvd west to Fulton Ave will get you there on surface streets in about 15–20 minutes, depending on traffic.

Do you offer mobile repair in Fair Oaks?

Our current glass service is at our Fulton Ave shop. Call (916) 907-3234 to ask about anything beyond that.

My chip is small. Do I really need to fix it now?

It's a good idea. Heat swings and wiper use can turn a small chip into a crack, and cracks are much less likely to be repairable. Our post can a small windshield chip be repaired explains why timing matters.

Will a new windshield affect my car's safety cameras?

On many newer vehicles, the forward camera needs ADAS calibration after replacement. If yours does, we'll tell you before work begins and explain how it will be handled. See ADAS calibration after windshield replacement.
