Toyota Tundra Window Tint in Sacramento
Most Tundra owners in Sacramento get the best result from Solar Gard ceramic film on every side and rear window, with a legal light film on the front doors and a top windshield strip. The large cab glass and rear slider make heat rejection more valuable than extra darkness.
Tundras around here work for a living and play hard on weekends. They tow boats to Folsom Lake, haul gear up I-80 toward Tahoe, and spend a lot of summer days parked on a jobsite with no shade. We've tinted Tundras at our Fulton Ave studio, including the 2025 model, and owners usually ask for two things: a cab that doesn't feel like an oven at 3 p.m., and a clean, uniform look between the factory-tinted rear glass and the clear front doors.
The current Tundra has a tall cab with a lot of glass, and CrewMax models add a large rear bench that family members or crew ride in. Keeping that back seat comfortable matters as much as the driver's view.
Recommended film for the Tundra
A truck cab gains the most from strong infrared rejection, so Solar Gard VortexIR is our usual recommendation. Solar Gard rates it at up to 88% infrared heat rejection. Over factory privacy glass we choose a shade that matches the existing darkness rather than going so dark that night backing becomes difficult. HP Smoke Plus, our best seller, is a good choice when you want solid performance at a lower cost. For California, the front door windows must let in at least 70% of light, so they get a light film, the windshield can carry a non-reflective strip on the top four inches, and the rear doors and back slider can go as dark as you like with dual mirrors. Our ceramic window tint page lays out the differences.

Windshield & auto glass
Tundra glass care.
Tundras spend a lot of time behind gravel trucks and on Sierra highways, so windshield chips are common. Recent model years carry Toyota Safety Sense, which uses a camera behind the windshield, and some trims have a head-up display, which can call for a specific windshield type. If replacement is needed and your vehicle needs calibration afterward, we'll tell you before work begins and explain how it will be handled. Visit our windshield replacement page, or call us to ask about your trim.
FAQ
Toyota Tundra questions.
Can you tint the Tundra's sliding rear window?
Yes. We cut the film to follow the slider's seams so each pane opens and closes cleanly. On power sliders we take extra care around the moving section.
My Tundra already has dark rear glass. Is tint still worth it?
Factory privacy glass is mostly a darker look; it does relatively little against infrared heat. A ceramic film over it adds the heat rejection that the glass alone lacks.
Is windshield protection film worth it on a Tundra?
For drivers who tow or commute on I-80 or US-50, it can help. See our windshield protection film page for how Clearshield WPF works and what it does and does not cover.
