When you open the door, the window drops a short distance so it can clear the roof seal, then rises back into it when the door closes.
That means the top edge of the film has to be finished cleanly and kept slightly below the very edge of the glass, so the seal does not catch and lift it over time. The rear quarter windows are small and sharply shaped, and the back glass is short and steeply curved. On convertible models, the rear glass and quarter glass differ again, so we look at your exact car before quoting. Done properly, the result is a flush, even shade from front to back.
