Jeep Wrangler Window Tint in Sacramento
On a Wrangler, tint goes on the door glass and the glass panels of a hard top, while soft-top windows need a different conversation. HP Smoke Plus or VortexIR ceramic on the rear glass and legal light film on the front doors is the usual setup.
We've tinted Wranglers at our Fulton Ave studio, and no two seem to arrive set up the same way. Some have the factory hard top, some a soft top, some a power-folding fabric roof, and many have aftermarket parts. Before quoting, we need to know which top you have, because that decides which windows are glass and which are not.
On a hard-top Wrangler, the rear quarter windows and the rear glass are part of the top. They come off with it, but most Sacramento owners leave the top on through the hot months, so tinting those panels makes a real difference to comfort and keeps gear out of sight at trailheads. Soft-top windows are usually a flexible clear material, and standard window film is made for glass, so we will explain the options for your specific top. The door windows are glass on the full doors and are treated like any front or rear side window.
Recommended film for the Wrangler
HP Smoke Plus, our best-selling Solar Gard film, suits most Wranglers well with its classic smoke-grey look and high heat and glare rejection. VortexIR nano-ceramic (rated at up to 88% infrared rejection) is the upgrade for owners who want more heat control. In California, front door windows need at least 70% combined light transmission; rear door and hard-top glass can be any darkness with dual outside mirrors; and the windshield allows a non-reflective strip on the top 4 inches. See Solar Gard films and ceramic window tint; we'll recommend the exact film and shade on your quote.

Windshield & auto glass
Wrangler glass care.
The Wrangler's short, upright windshield faces gravel head-on, so chips are common. Equipped trims have driver-assist cameras behind the windshield, and some model years offered a Gorilla Glass windshield, so a replacement must match your Jeep. Early windshield repair is the simplest fix. If you need a new windshield, see windshield replacement: if your vehicle needs calibration after a replacement, we'll tell you before work begins and explain how it will be handled.
FAQ
Jeep Wrangler questions.
Can you tint a Wrangler soft top?
Soft-top windows are usually not glass, and window film is designed for glass. Ask us about your top and we will explain what is possible.
Should I bring my hard top on when I come in?
Yes. The rear quarter windows and rear glass are part of the hard top, so it needs to be installed.
Does tint come off when I remove my Wrangler doors?
No. The film is on the door glass, so it stays with the door.
